Discussion Aims:
1. Bringing attention to
UN Special Rapporteur’s recommendations on unpaid care work and human rights to
spur global conversations among development practitioners, policy makers,
women’s rights and youth organizations, and the private sector;
2. Identifying key actions
around policy and practice to recognize, reduce and redistribute women’s
unequal responsibility for unpaid care work in rural communities;
3. Developing joint efforts to
advocate for increased visibility of rural women’s unpaid care work issues
during the 58th session of the Commission on the Status of Women as well as the
post-2015 development agenda.
