Announcement for NGO Representatives
Who Have Pre-Registered for CSW 54
A significant number of NGO representatives from around the world have pre-registered to participate in the fifty-fourth session of the Commission on the Status of Women that will soon take place at United Nations Headquarters to assess progress in implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and the outcomes of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly.
Ongoing renovations of the United Nations Headquarters complex have put a major strain on building facilities and space availability for meetings. As a result, NGO access will be limited at official UN meetings as well as at parallel events organized by Member States and United Nations Entities.
Please be advised that:
- Pre-registration will be closed, as of 18
February 2010
- On-site registration will not automatically give access
to meetings
- The number of NGO representatives that will be able to
attend official meetings will be determined in accordance with the
capacity of the conference rooms
- Special Event Tags will be required for access to
parallel events
- The number of Special Event Tags will vary per event
