The Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation’s Cortona Colloquium 2008 – Gender and Citizenship: New and Old Dilemmas, Between Equality and Difference will take place from 7–9 November 2008 in Cortona (Tuscany).

This year's edition of the Foundation's annual international conference will be hosted in cooperation with the City of Cortona and the Centre for Study and Research on Women and Gender Differences of the University of Milan.

The keynote lecture of the Colloquium will be delivered by Professor Nancy Fraser, Henry A. and Louise Loeb Professor of Political and Social Science at The New School for Social Research. The Colloquium's scientific coordinator is Professor Bianca Beccalli, Professor of the Sociology of Work at the University of Milan.

The Foundation invites doctoral candidates and young PhD recipients or independent researchers working in a variety of fields including gender studies, sociology, history, political science, law, economics and more, to submit proposals for participation at the Colloquium.

Proposals must be sent to the attention of Sara Benjamin, international programs coordinator, at international@fondazionefeltrinelli.it by 18 May 2008.
