GLOBAL REPORT ON SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN ARMED CONFLICT - DCAF
The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed
Forces (DCAF) is
preparing a Global Report on Sexual Violence in Armed
Conflict. The
objective of this Report is to provide a global overview
of the prevalence
and nature of sexual violence in conflict by collating
existing data, and to
identify good practice in security sector responses to
sexual violence in
conflict. We thank all of you who have already
contributed to the drafting
of this Report.
We have now completed the first part of the Report:
country profiles that
bring together data on sexual violence in conflict. We hope that you might
review those countries of which you have particular
knowledge, and share
these drafts within your networks and organisations for
others to provide
input.

We would hope to receive your specific requests as for
Country Profiles
soon, and have your feedback by 21st May 2007.
In a second request for input in the coming months, we
will be distributing
draft profiles of
good or 'promising' practices in responding to sexual
violence as regards peacekeepers, police, military,
justice systems, in DDR
and from civil society.
